About this Blog
In April 2026, we visited London for the first time! Yes, it took me a little while to finally write this post, but I’ve been busy and wanted it to be thoughtful and well put together. It’s also my very first travel blog:)
I had been dreaming of visiting London for years, and now that we live in Berlin and it’s closer than ever, we decided it was the perfect opportunity. What I was most excited about, though, was the incredible vegan food scene. London has so many vegan restaurants, and we ate *almost* exclusively at places that were 100% vegan—just the way we like it and exactly what we had hoped for.
I’m going to organize this blog by day.
We landed on Saturday morning and left on Wednesday afternoon, so we had almost five full days to enjoy the city. And thankfully, the weather was much better than we had worried it might be! ☀️🇬🇧🌱

What we ate in London (100% Vegan)
As much as I love breakfast, I also like eating it soon after I wake up. Because of that, having breakfast at the apartment will almost always be my preference over going out for breakfast.
Every day (except for the morning we arrived, which I’ll talk about later) we had a bowl of granola with fruit and yogurt that we bought from a supermarket near the apartment.
I also enjoy visiting supermarkets whenever I travel, so it’s a win-win for me anyway. 😊

Favorites and especially recommended items are marked with an *
Day 1
Breakfast
at Mildreds Covent Garden
79 St Martin’s Ln, London WC2N 4AA, United Kingdom

As I mentioned, the only breakfast we didn’t have at the apartment was on the day we arrived. It was a Saturday morning and we weren’t particularly hungry, but we knew it was the perfect time to take advantage of how close our apartment was to Mildreds, and that it would be our first restaurant stop, we had also heard great recommendations about it.
From the Weekend Brunch menu
Big plates
Full English – Honestly quite disappointing. It felt like it was made from ingredients that are hard to mess up, and like I was eating things I already make at home—but it just wasn’t very tasty to me. That said, the marinated mushrooms were really, really good.
Pancakes
*Berries & Cream pancakes – After being a bit underwhelmed by that dish, we decided to try the pancakes. Unfortunately, I didn’t take a photo—and I really regret it, because they were amazing!! Fluffy, perfectly sweet, and very great sauce.
Drinks
We had a matcha latte and a decaf cappuccino, both with oat milk. I’d definitely recommend the decaf.
Service
The service in the restaurant was very pleasant, and the atmosphere was lovely overall.
Lunch
at 123V Browns
39 Brook St, London W1K 4JE, United Kingdom

A small restaurant that is part of the restaurant group under chef Alexis Gauthier, who became vegan in 2016 and whose restaurants are now fully vegan. We had booked a table in advance at his Soho restaurant, and we didn’t even realize it was his until we arrived. Since we weren’t very hungry, as we had eaten breakfast not long before, we ordered the dishes that felt like the absolute must-tries.
It’s also worth mentioning that they have an impressive selection of sushi, including a “bottomless sushi” option, which we would definitely have ordered if we had been hungrier.
From the Spring menu
Small plates
Crispy Tofu Skewers – The dish looked interesting, but as someone who really loves tofu, I was a bit disappointed. The tofu itself lacked flavor and relied almost entirely on the sauce on top.
*Mushroom sushi (2 pieces) – Really, really good. Surprisingly flavorful and well-balanced. I wish we had room for more sushi! Maybe next time we’ll try more:)
Garden Bowls
Garden Pad Thai – Pad Thai is one of my favorite dishes. Since it’s not very common in Berlin, and I mostly make it at home, I always try it when I see it on the menu. The noodles weren’t properly cooked, and the dish felt a bit dry and under-seasoned. Disappointing.
Garden Bowls
*Scent of the Woods (orange drink, non-alcoholic) – Highly recommended. It was a really interesting drink that we couldn’t stop sipping.
Peach & Bergamot (red drink, non-alcoholic) – I hope I remembered the choice correctly—there was one spice in it that I didn’t really like.
Atmosphere
The restaurant’s design is beautiful and the atmosphere is very intimate. There’s also an outdoor seating area, which wasn’t in use during our visit, probably because of the weather, but it looked like a lovely place to sit.
Service
There was only one waitress, as the restaurant wasn’t busy, and she was both lovely and professional.
Dessert
at Cream Dream – Plant-Based and Gluten Free Cafe
46 Bedford St, London WC2E 9HA, United Kingdom

I’ll start by saying that desserts like this aren’t really my thing, but I was curious about the place. The dessert selection looked great for anyone arriving with room for dessert after a meal, or for those with a sweet tooth!
Personally, I didn’t connect with the dessert we took, and I thought the cake layer was quite dry.
I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get a chance to sit down and try the Ukrainian dishes they serve, since I have a connection to Ukrainian cuisine from home. 💛💙
Atmosphere
The place itself looked absolutely lovely, and I hope we’ll get the chance to eat there properly next time.
Dinner
at The Cheese Cellar (located in the basement of Purezza)
45-47 Parkway, London NW1 7PG, United Kingdom
*Available every Friday and Saturday evening with reservations.

A place we booked in advance, and probably the meal I was looking forward to the most.
Located on the lower floor of the vegan Purezza, this is a lovely and cozy spot serving outstanding vegan cheeses. It truly feels like a complete cheese-focused dining experience in every sense.
From the Set Menu + Sharing Plate (Spring Platter).
The cheeses were served with gluten-free sourdough bread, which was perfectly soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. It paired beautifully with the cheeses and dips and held up really well throughout the tasting.
Set Menu
*Gorgonzola – Wow. This was probably my favorite. The fig chutney was the perfect accompaniment, and honestly, you would never guess it was dairy-free.
*Fumoso – They initially forgot the onion dip and brought it halfway through the tasting, and we didn’t even notice because the cheese was already delicious on its own! That said, the onion dip was a fantastic addition and complemented it really well.
Shring plates
Spring Platter – The dried tomato cheese was a little underwhelming for me, and the feta was good but not particularly memorable. The herb and truffle flavors were my favorite on this platter, they were soft and perfect for spreading, with a delicate yet distinct and pleasant flavor.
Drinks
We drank the Prosecco and the Picpoul, both of which paired nicely with the cheeses.
Atmosphere
To reach the cellar, you walk through the restaurant, and there’s a noticeable shift in atmosphere as you head downstairs. The space is much smaller and more intimate compared to the spacious dining room above. Even though the seating is arranged to make the most of the available space, the dining experience felt comfortable and never crowded or intrusive. The seating was comfortable, and both the lighting and acoustics contributed to a very pleasant atmosphere.
Service
The service was efficient and informative, and overall, it was a very positive dining experience.
Leftovers
In addition to the fact that the meal was very good and enjoyable, even though we were hungry, we couldn’t finish the cheeses. We kindly asked for them to be packed to go. We picked up some gluten-free crackers from Whole Foods, which is located right next door, and ended up eating it as a snack or as breakfast during the rest of our stay.
Day 2
Brunch
at Ethiopiques (Southbank Centre) – Highly recommended!
Southbank Centre, Belvedere Rd, London SE1 8XX, United Kingdom

We were walking through the area completely by chance while looking for something to eat, and came across a row of food stalls. We went through all of them and couldn’t find a vegan option, and were already about to settle for a place that only had a couple of vegan dishes.
Then, right at the end, I spotted a stall offering vegan Ethiopian food. We were so happy—we both love Ethiopian cuisine and hadn’t had it in a long time. 😍
We picked up a box with a selection of warm stews, Couscous, fresh salads, and of course Injera. Everything was absolutely delicious, and it honestly felt like such a lucky find that the stall appeared just when we weren’t expecting it.
Afternoon Tea
at Roseate House London
3 Westbourne Terrace, Hyde Park Gardens, Tyburnia, London W2 3UL, United Kingdom

Weeks before our trip to London, I already knew I couldn’t skip afternoon tea while we were there. I looked up and compared several places in London that offer vegan afternoon tea, trying to find one that was reasonably priced and also offered an interesting selection of sandwiches, along with desserts that felt more like cakes and chocolate rather than candy-style sweets (because that’s simply what I prefer).
I also wanted the place to feel classic, with a clean and elegant atmosphere. And let me tell you, I found exactly that.
From the Vegan Afternoon Tea set menu
Sweet Cakes (Served with vegan butter and jam)
Traditional scones with Canned orange– Soft, melt-in-the-mouth, and slightly marmalade-like. They paired perfectly with the butter.
Matcha green tea scones – Also excellent in texture, and the matcha pairs beautifully with the jam!
Finger Sandwiches
Caramelized onion & vegan cheese
Sweet corn hummus
Wilted spinach & mushroom *our favorites!
Pickled beet & avocado salsa *our favorites!
Moroccan spiced carrot
Patisserie Delights
Carrot and walnut cake *our favorites!
Hyde flapjack
Dark chocolate tartelette
Seasonal macaron
And of course, the teas.
*Sakura Green Tea – An absolute gem. It complemented the meal beautifully and had an addictive flavor.
Smoky Mountain Tea – yumm.
Service
The entire staff, from the reception team to the restaurant servers, were incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient.
Atmosphere
Just as I had hoped, it was quiet and pleasant.
Leftovers
To be honest, we couldn’t finish this meal either—in fact, we weren’t even close. We managed about half of the sandwiches and desserts, so we asked for everything to be packed up. It ended up making a lovely meal after the evening’s entertainment (keep reading!). ֿ
Special event – ABBA Voyage
Although I don’t have any photos from before the show (and filming isn’t allowed during it), I had to stop and recommend it.
We’re not huge ABBA fans, although I do really love their music. We chose tickets for the dance floor because we thought it would be the most fun and make it feel like a real concert (and they were cheaper, too!). It turned out to be a great decision because it genuinely felt like being in the audience at a live concert—an ABBA concert, no less! You could dance, sing along, and completely immerse yourself in the experience, which made it incredibly fun and memorable.
The set design, lighting, technology, music, and vocals were simply outstanding. It was truly an unforgettable experience and one I would happily do again.
I would recommend it to anyone visiting London.
Day 3
Lunch
at Tofu Vegan Charlotte Street – Without a doubt—our favorite meal!
32 Charlotte St., London W1T 2NQ, United Kingdom

I can’t believe we’ve only been to this restaurant once. I’m officially ordering you not to miss it—it really is that good.
Everything was absolutely delicious, so I honestly can’t recommend one dish over another!
Dim sum
Wonton in house special sauce – The filling was perfectly seasoned, and every bite was a pleasure.
Hot dishes
Cantonese sweet and sour chick’n
House-made silken tofu in a spicy sauce – I’m drooling just writing this.
Plain jasmine rice (with refill!!)
Dessert
Sesame rolls stuffed with red bean paste
Service
The service was fast, efficient, and friendly, good enough for us.
Atmosphere
The restaurant is spacious, so it doesn’t feels crowded, even when it’s busy. The décor is simple yet beautiful, and the seating feels cozy and intimate. PLEASE GO THERE.
Dinner
at Meat The Vegans – Multicuisine – My first ever Fish and Chips

I’d never had fish and chips before, and I knew I didn’t want to leave London without trying. At the same time, it was important to me to eat at a fully vegan restaurant, and this turned out to be the perfect place for it!
The restaurant offers a wide variety of vegan cuisines, including Indian, Asian, Mexican, Caribbean, and American. I love that you can mix things up and try something different each time.
From the Caribbean menu
Vegan Fish and Chips -First of all, the portion was huge! The dips (vegan tartar sauce and mushy peas) were packed with flavor, and the vegan fish was incredibly realistic and absolutely delicious. I could have kept eating it forever.
As much as I usually avoid deep-fried food, this was so well done that it was completely worth it.
Vegan curry goat – The dish was definitely tasty, but nothing particularly special.
Service
The service was fast, efficient, and friendly, good enough for us.
Atmosphere
The kitchen is open and sits right in front of the dining area. At one point, a large amount of smoke started coming from the kitchen, filling the restaurant with a strong, unpleasant smell. It also triggered a very loud alarm throughout the entire restaurant, which made the atmosphere quite uncomfortable.
The place also felt a bit greasy and not as clean as I would have liked.
Even with all that, I’d still recommend stopping by.
Day 4
Lunch
at Holy Carrot
156 Portobello Rd, London W11 2EB, United Kingdom

A super unique restaurant located in the heart of Notting Hill. We happened to walk past it and discovered, completely by chance, that it was vegan:)
I left wanting to try more of the menu, so I’d definitely come back.
From the Daytime à la carte menu
New Season Asparagus on Sourdough – Besides being absolutely beautiful, the asparagus was cooked to perfection.
Crispy Mushroom Wings – I mean… how could you possibly mess that up? Yummy.
Sides
Caesar Side – Crispy Tempeh, focaccia Miso Dressing – A nice side dish, but I wish it had more dressing.
Drinks
Home-made Kombucha – really good one.
Service
The service was very basic.
Atmosphere
First of all, the restaurant’s design is truly eye-catching. The décor is minimalist, creating a very clean, modern, and inviting atmosphere.
Lunch
at Gauthier soho
21 Romilly St, London W1D 5AF, United Kingdom

We chose the Classic “Grand Dîner”—a 10-course tasting menu from the spring menu. The eighth course (the last savory course before dessert) was an optional cheese course for an additional £15, which we skipped because we were already full.
At £95 per person, I thought the menu was creative and full of interesting ideas. While I wouldn’t say it was one of the best meals we’ve had recently, I really appreciated how inspiring it was, and the atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable.
The wine pairing costs £80 per person, which is almost as much as the tasting menu itself. Since we’re not big drinkers, we ordered just a few individual drinks instead: a Shiso Daiquiri, a glass of Chablis, and Substance Aurore—a drink made with high-grade organic Sencha green tea and organic pomelo (similar to sweet grapefruit) grown in Provence, where Chef Alexis Gauthier is from. It was absolutely delicious.
Some of my highlights included the canapés, served alongside a delicious fennel and lemon broth finished with dill oil. The purple artichoke and lovage canapés were incredible. I also really enjoyed the Golden Crêpe Vonassienne—a small potato and flour pancake topped with beurre blanc sauce and Gauthier’s signature vegan caviar. Finally, dessert, the Mikado Mess, was a beautiful combination of vanilla-poached English rhubarb, sweet Gariguette strawberries, cultured Timur ice, toasted meringue, and a brown plant butter crumble.
Service
We were looked after by two servers. The woman who served us was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. With the other server, though, I felt a little less at ease. When he explained the dishes, I didn’t always understand him, and honestly, I didn’t feel comfortable asking him to repeat himself.
Overall, I expected a little more from the service, but it didn’t take away from the experience—and I guess that’s what really matters.
Atmosphere
Dark, warm, cozy, and inviting. The minimalist design creates a space that feels intimate and welcoming.
Day 5 – and last 🙁
Breakfast
at B Bagel Soho
54 Wardour St, London W1D 4JF, United Kingdom

The only non-vegan place you’ll ever see on this blog—but it was SO GOOD.
We were looking for a takeaway breakfast to enjoy in front of the National Gallery, and this was exactly what we needed. They offer four plant-based bagels: Avocado & Vegan Cream Cheese, Louisiana Tofu, BBQ Pulled Mushroom, and Aubergine Heaven.
As mushroom lovers, we had to order the BBQ Pulled Mushroom, and since Guy absolutely hates eggplant, we also picked the Louisiana Tofu. Both were fantastic and made for the perfect breakfast. I only wish the whole place was 100% vegan :’)
Lunch
at Club Mexicana, Leicester Square

I had been looking forward to trying Club Mexicana because I absolutely LOVE Mexican food, and we don’t have a fully vegan Mexican restaurant here in Berlin. When we visited New York, we ate at Jajaja three times, so there was no way we were skipping this place—especially since it was only a four-minute walk from our apartment.
BBQ Short ‘Rib’ Burrito – Was really good, although the vegan short rib was a little chewy.
Baja To-Fish Tacos – They were tasty, but nothing particularly memorable.
Overall, it was a fun experience, even if it wasn’t one of the highlights of the trip.
Dessert
at Crumble Mania
Located in the same food hall, Crumble Mania is a 100% plant-based crumble shop, and it’s an absolute must if you’re craving something sweet.
The crumble was comforting, delicious, and perfectly balanced—not overly sweet, just the kind of dessert you want to curl up with.

Thanks so much for reading! 💕
I hope you enjoyed this guide, and I’d love to hear your recommendations for my next trip. See you on the next adventure! ✈️🌍🌱
